So I'm looking for a edge liner like the chiseled granite look that is six inches by 8 feet. I've found 84 inches is the longest. Anyone know of a product / supplier of what will work for me?
Thanks

styrofoam
Paul, Did you make this design from rubber products?
Paul that looks great, can I try this using Buddy's pressed technique? what kind of clay do you recomend? The face will be 5.5" by 8 ft long, I would like to do the clay method it looks awesome.
Permalink Reply by Jonathan Haywood on October 16, 2012 at 9:30pm Thats a crap load of clay. If you're using plasticine that will be costly. I know I always do it, but I agree with Steve's foam route. seems like it would be cheaper. But that does look killer Paul!
I believe it was plastilina clay, Im going to the shop in a little bit i'll double check. The clay was only about an 1/8" to 3/16" thick on the mould, so it really was not that much clay. I bought a huge block of it for $30 from the ceramics house across the street from me. Didn't use the whole brick on the entire kitchen, around 40 linear feet of this edge. Plus its reusable. As for the pressed finish, I would be worried about slurrying the chiseled rock edge. Would be difficult to remove slurry, or I guess leaving it unslurried might look kind of cool as well. Maybe do a practice run, and don't press too hard or you may disturb the clay.
How are you guys doing the styro method?
