Hello guys I'm wondering if anybody has done a whole piece via gfrc.... liked sprayed the whole thing with no back up coat? (in the traditional sense)
Id like to try to do two face coats then find a hopper gun (if there is such a tool) that will allow me to spray a back up coat with fibers or at least get some scrim down. Would Buddies spray mix be strong enough at 1" thick?
Im just thininking time wise this would be good for me as i have lots to do and ZERO time to do it...almost time to quit my real job..
Thanks Guys

The Mortar Sprayer gun by www.mortarsprayer.com is another solution, but you need allot of air and it can be messy and also NEEDS to be rolled to get the right compaction. I also have developed a sprayer for small shops for spraying mist coat and backer. It is designed to lay the mix up in the proper way, like the GFRC sprayers mentioned above. Here is a video of the unit. It will spray Buddy's GFRC mix with no problem!!

This is also from gores site. I have done this to my hopper gun and it works really well. I just spray the backer coat roll it out and spray again till I obtain my desired thickness. As for buddy's mix. I've done one with 1/2 inch at the thickest. It was an 8 foot planter and 18 inches tall. Did half inch total thicknes gfrc and filled it with a yard of dirt. Didn't even flex the thing. So at 1 inch you will have no issues. So long as you follow the w/c ratio and add appropriate acrylic. Hope this helps
